audience response to our dress rehearsal for the rub, Williamsburgh, ny:

"I just wanted to, once more, express that the play was absolutely great. I've always read Hamlet projecting onto it my own turmoil and inner battles, and watching your adaptation has opened up yet another avenue to absorb this profound story of madness.
Hamlet and its many paths of inner contemplation have truly come alive through your cast's performance. It was an amazing experience to leave after the show and carry all of you with me.
It is a mark of true art when the spectators walk away feeling like they've gained a new perspective towards any piece of art they've cherished for long.
I wish I could join you for one more show in New Orleans!

The Rub is a site specific theatrical experiment. Its first home was a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We used the entirety of this epic space to create a uniquely immersive adaptation of Hamlet.
The Rub is an exploration of the passion, complacency, delusion, anxiety, and desire that come with being the heir to a state rotting from the inside out. Hamlet's in the think of it and so are we. We reinterpret Shakespeare's tragedy through an absurd style and use references from pop-culture and contemporary politics, transforming the classic into an uncanny reflection of our present reality.

A big thank you to those of you who attended our open dress rehearsal in williamsburgh!
